چکیده

This paper uses second-order software for evaluating five Stirling engine parameter?s effect on its performance to select an appropriate configuration with optimal dimensions use in a concentrated solar power plant. Appropriate configuration, heater shape, bundle tube heat exchanger size, and regenerator type geometry are studied. Results show that Alpha is the most suitable high-temperature differences, U-shaped tubes advantageous combining good efficiency fewer pressure losses. Shortening inner diameter increasing number strategy increase also length generates reduction efficiency. Regarding regenerator, wire mesh presents compromise between minimum drop losses provides better For obtained thicker mesh.

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Thermal Analysis and Cost Estimation of Stirling Cycle Engine

Stirling engine technologies have been applied to cogeneration systems mainly for residential applications. The performance of Stirling engines has been evaluated considering different operational conditions, which include the electrical and thermal production. Thermodynamic analysis of the Stirling engine’s performance has been conducted, using specially designed computing codes along with the...

The Myth of the high-efficiency external-combustion Stirling Engine

The reported discrepancy between theory and experiment for external combustion Stirling engines is explained by the addition of thermal resistance of the combustion gasses to the standard Carnot model. In these cases, the Stirling engine ideal efficiency is not as is normally reported equal to the Carnot cycle efficiency but is significantly lower. A new equation for ideal Stirling engine effic...

Efficiency Bound of a Solar-driven Stirling Heat Engine System

A solar-driven Stirling engine is modelled as a combined system which consists of a solar collector and a Stirling engine. The performance of the system is investigated, based on the linearized heat loss model of the solar collector and the irreverisible cycle model of the Stirling engine affected by finite-rate heat transfer and regenerative losses. The maximum efficiency of the system and the...
